Warranty Terms and Conditions

Maintain maximum protection under warranty by ensuring your motorcycle is inspected and if required serviced in accordance with the recommendations of the scheduled chart in the owner's handbook.

The appropriate service record must be stamped by your authorised Zapp Service Agent.

Whenever service, repair or warranty work is undertaken, the motorcycle service handbook must be made available to your Zapp Service Agent.

Within the warranty period, Zapp warrants the new Zapp vehicle to be free from any defect in materials used in the manufacture, and/or workmanship at the time of its manufacture.

Zapp will bear labour charges for work carried out under the warranty. The warranty may be transferred to subsequent owners for the balance of the remaining period.

Any part found to be defective during this period will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Zapp an authorized Zapp Service Agent.

Any parts replaced under warranty must be returned to Zapp by the authorized Zapp Service Agent and will become the property of Zapp.

Zapp may, at its discretion, make any repairs or replacement of defective parts falling outside the warranty, but such work shall not be deemed to be any admission of liability.

Warranty Conditions and Exclusions

  1. The vehicle must not have been used for competition, misused*, inadequately maintained, or incorrectly serviced or maintained.
  2. The vehicle must not have been subject to any modification, repair or replacement other than as authorised by Zapp Electric Vehicles Limited.
  3. The vehicle must have been inspected by an authorised Zapp Service Agent, at the intervals specified in the Zapp Owner’s Handbook and the service log completed accordingly.
  4. Defects caused by faulty adjustment, or repairs and alterations performed by persons not authorised by Zapp Service Agent are not covered by this warranty and may void this warranty.
  5. Defects caused by the use of parts and accessories not authorised by Zapp are not covered by this warranty and may void this warranty.
  6. The warranty does not cover the cost of removal and replacement of parts and accessories, unless supplied as original equipment by Zapp.
  7. The warranty does not cover the cost of transportation of the machine to or from Zapp, or expenses incurred while the vehicle is off the road for warranty repairs.
  8. Normal servicing and normal service items, such as brake fluid are not covered by this warranty. Similarly, items which are expected to wear as part of their normal function such as tyres, bulbs, belts, brake pads are also excluded, unless there is a manufacturing defect.
  9. Front fork seals are not covered by this warranty being subject to wear and tear (particularly stone damage to inner fork tubes).
  10. Other items excluded from warranty are seats, painted body panels, polished aluminium items, unpainted body panels, accessories or general deterioration caused by normal wear and tear, exposure or lack of correct maintenance.
  11. The battery packs are warranted for 36 months from the original date of purchase of the vehicle. After this 36 month period, the battery is excluded from the terms of this warranty. The battery packs supplied with the vehicle must be provided with sufficient charge to replenish that lost by the operation of the starting mechanism and/or the use of electrical equipment whilst the vehicle is not in operation.
  12. The warranty does not cover vehicle used on a commercial basis.
  13. The warranty does not cover defects which have not been reported to an authorised Zapp Service Agent within five working days of discovery of the defect.
  14. The warranty does not cover vehicle which have been incorrectly charged, or charged using a charger not supplied by Zapp
  15. Should a warranty claim become necessary, Zapp and its Authorised Zapp Service Agents shall not be liable for loss of use, inconvenience, lost time, commercial losses or other incidental or consequential damages.

This warranty shall be interpreted in accordance with English or European laws and any question arising from this warranty shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English or European courts.

Any statement, condition, representation, description or warranty otherwise contained in any catalogue, advertisement or other publication shall not be construed as enlarging, varying or overriding anything contained herein.

Zapp reserves the right to make alterations or improvements without notification to any model or machine without obligation to do so to scooters already sold.

This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.

Transfer of Ownership

If you sell your Zapp vehicle, please contact Zapp via e-mail.

This must be done to allow Zapp to contact the new owner in case of any safety related issues.
